How is my drive?

In 2 Kings 9 we see the story of Jehu who is anointed as the king of Israel. Israel was living in wickedness, but the Lord decided to raise up Jehu as the new king of Israel so end the rule of the house of Ahab. Jehu is obedient to the Lord and goes about destroying the house of Ahab.

Finally we see Jehu go to Jezreel to find Joram, the king of Israel. The watchman of Jezreel looks out and sees Jehu. The watchman says, "...the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously." (2 Kings 9:20) Ultimately Jehu reaches the city and slays Joram, but that is not what the Lord showed me today.

Notice 2 Kings 9:20 where the watchman sees Jehu's driving. Jehu was known simply by the way that he drove the chariot!

So often today we are also known by our drive. We know many churches by their drive; Jehovah's Witness and Mormons are known by their zeal to get their message to the people. If these are so zealous that we as Bible-believing Christians ought to be zealous with our message too. I want to be known by a zeal for the Lord! I want to be known by a drive to serve God no matter the cost!

In 2 Kings 10:16 the Bible says, "And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot."

Here Jehu invites another to ride with him and see his zeal. Can we give the same offer today? How is our zeal for God?
