The Convenient Season

The book of Acts is an exciting book of the Bible! There are so many great events and stories of the new church and believers.

In Chapter 9 Paul (Saul of Tarsus) becomes the key figure that God uses to get the Gospel to the world! Paul travels and preaches the Gospel all over the known world.

Toward the end of the book (Acts 24) Paul stands before Felix the governor. Here Paul gives an account of himself and his ministry. Felix stands forth in Acts 24:25 and says to Paul, "Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee." Felix hears the Gospel, but rejects it because it was not a convenient season for him.

Here are a few things to note about this situation:

1) Felix knew about the "this way."

Acts 24:22--"And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way..."

2) Felix made excuse to end their conversation.

Felix did not want to hear the truth. (Acts 24:22)

3) Paul was given the chance to speak so he shared his faith in Christ. (Acts 24:24)

When we get the chance to speak what do we say? Do we talk about Jesus?

4) Felix rejected Christ because it was not a convenient season.

The truth is that Felix would never have a convenient season. The time would never be best for him. But thank God, the time for salvation is always present!

2 Corinthians 6:2--" (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)"

Today is the day to get saved! Do not wait until a convenient time! Choose Christ today!
